The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is its softness which depends upon the fineness of the fibres. Extrafine merino (19.5 microns) is some of the finest commercially available for hand dyers. The resulting yarn feels supersoft and gentle against the skin. This is a very versatile soft yarn and can be used for shawls, wraps, mittens and jumpers. Washable in cold water on a gentle cycle, it is also suitable for children’s and baby clothes.
This yarn is variegated with greys, teals and blues with some additional speckles. This a paler version of Wild Blue Yonder.
- Superwash Extra Fine Merino 19.5 micron

- 3.5 -4.5 mm needles
- 22 sts X 30 rows / 10 cms on 4 mm needles
- Gentle cold machine wool wash
- We recommend gentle hand washing for all handknits
