72% Superkid Mohair / 28% Mulberry Silk

As most NZ mohair is processed overseas, to obtain the finest super kid Mohair it’s necessary to import the processed fibre.

Floof is the name I’ve given this wondrously next to skin softness from the first shearing of young Angora goats blended with Mulberry Silk.

Mohair has about twice the thermal qualities of wool providing real warmth and softness.
Two strands of mulberry silk hold the mohair fibres in place to add radiance and strength.

This is a super light and airy yarn and can be worked at many different gauges. It produces gossamer-like items when large needles or hooks are used and soft, fluffy items at tighter gauges. It can also be carried with another yarn to add a delicate haze and to produce a surprisingly warm fabric.

Please make a tension square before any project to test gauge and needle size and if combining yarns, to test colour blending and any fabric behaviour changes such as drape, loft, warmth and feel.

Reduce movement when gently hand washing to prevent matting/felting.
